YOUTH + PARENT PROGRAMS
The red tent. The sisterhood. Goddess Girl Scouts.
Diana Circle is a rites of passage program that combines the needs and lives of modern girls (trans and non-binary inclusive) with the wisdom of earth-honoring traditions that celebrate the intuition, wildness and power of young women.
Diana Circle offers a context that normalizes authenticity among peers, and reminds girls that they should be celebrated for who they are. This context has the power to counteract so many unhealthy messages in the world. Through seasonal celebration, song, storytelling, and exploration of powerful female archetypes Diana Circle reminds girls that there are a million ways to grown up to be an amazing woman! It's a place to celebrate and laugh, a place to bring heartache about life or the state of the world, a place to become comfortable with their changing bodies. It is place where magic happens.
Diana Circle currently has chapters for 3rd-4th graders and 5th-7th graders in West Philadelphia and Mt. Airy. Registration is open for fall 2019! To join, or find out more about starting a chapter in your neighborhood, fill out the registration form below.
Diana Camp is a truly unique and magical week of adventure for girls aged 8–14. “Diana,” also known as Artemis, is the Greek/Roman goddess of the wild spirit, protector of nature and animals and is unfaltering in her own truth. We have big plans in the works. Keep an eye out for Diana Camp 2020! Join the mailing list to get updates!

Diana Circle was founded in 1994 in Ann Arbor, Michigan by my beloved teacher, mentor and friend, ShuNahSii Rose. After a handful of years of teaching women’s empowerment classes, and inspired by her own growing daughters, ShuNahSii realized the need to create a space for girls that was rooted in feminism and connection with the earth. All Red Seeds classes are in partnership with In Sacred Balance. Diana Circle in particular falls under the In Sacred Balance umbrella, and is a counterpart to the Wheel program; a yearlong course of study and community for women (trans and non-binary inclusive). If you’d like to find out more about Diana Circle in Ann Arbor, contact ShuNahSii here.
Starting a chapter of Diana Circle in Philadelphia has been a lifelong career goal for me. I was a member of the original Diana Circle back in 1994, and it was life-altering in the best possible way. You can read a little bit more of that story here. My participation in Diana Circle helped me to chose a career centering youth empowerment. I have a degree in secondary education from Temple University. My professional path has included serving as program coordinator at the Attic Youth Center, where I got to create and provide a myriad of creative, practical, exciting programs for LGBTQ youth and program coordinator for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, where I currently run weekend long retreat programs for Quaker middle schoolers. Diana Circle and Diana Camp bring me so much joy, and allow me to combine my fierce love for youth with my passion for earth-honoring traditions and spiritual development.
